How to Use iSwap in 5 Minutes
Want to buy tokens that aren't available on Myntkaup? This guide will get you swapping in under 5 minutes.
What You'll Need
- A smartphone or computer
- A Web3 wallet (we'll help you set one up)
- Some BNB or ETH to swap
Step 1: Set Up a Wallet (2 minutes)
If you don't have a crypto wallet yet:
- Download MetaMask from metamask.io
- Create a new wallet
- Write down your recovery phrase and store it safely — this is the only way to recover your wallet!
- Set a strong password
Already have a wallet? Skip to Step 2.
Step 2: Get Some Crypto (varies)
You'll need BNB (for BNB Chain swaps) to start:
- Buy BNB on Myntkaup using your Icelandic bank account
- Go to "Withdraw" in Myntkaup
- Enter your MetaMask wallet address (starts with 0x...)
- Confirm the withdrawal
- Wait a few minutes for it to arrive
Tip: Start small! Try 5,000 ISK worth to test the process.
Step 3: Connect to iSwap (30 seconds)
- Go to iswap.is
- Click "Connect Wallet" in the top right
- Select MetaMask (or your wallet)
- Approve the connection in your wallet
You're now connected! Your wallet address will appear in the top right.
Step 4: Make Your First Swap (1 minute)
- On the Swap page, select your "From" token (e.g., BNB)
- Select your "To" token (e.g., PEPE, WIF, or any token)
- Enter the amount you want to swap
- Review the quote — check the rate and fees
- Click "Swap"
- Confirm the transaction in your wallet
Important: The first time you swap a new token, you may need to click "Approve" first. This is normal!
Step 5: View Your New Tokens
After the swap confirms (usually 10-30 seconds):
- Open MetaMask
- Your new tokens should appear automatically
- If not, click "Import Token" and paste the token contract address
That's it! You've successfully swapped tokens on iSwap.
Tips for New Users
- Start small — Test with small amounts first
- Check slippage — Default 1% is fine for most tokens
- Verify tokens — Always confirm you're swapping the correct token contract
- Save gas — Swap during off-peak hours for lower fees
- Bookmark — Only use iswap.is to avoid phishing sites
