1. No Financial Advice

iSwap does not provide financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. All information is for educational purposes only. You should:

  • Conduct your own research
  • Consult qualified professionals
  • Only invest what you can afford to lose

2. Volatility Risk

Cryptocurrency prices are extremely volatile. The value of tokens you swap:

  • May decrease significantly within minutes
  • May become worthless
  • May not reflect fair market value during high volatility

3. Smart Contract Risk

Swaps are executed through smart contracts. Risks include:

  • Bugs: Code vulnerabilities that could result in loss of funds
  • Exploits: Malicious actors exploiting vulnerabilities
  • Upgrades: Contract changes that affect functionality

iSwap uses 0x Protocol smart contracts, which have been audited but are not guaranteed to be bug-free.

4. Slippage and Price Impact

Large trades or low-liquidity tokens may experience:

  • Slippage: Difference between expected and actual execution price
  • Price Impact: Your trade moving the market price against you
  • Front-running: Other traders exploiting your pending transaction

Always check the price impact before confirming swaps.

5. Failed Transactions

Transactions may fail due to:

  • Insufficient gas
  • Price movement exceeding slippage tolerance
  • Network congestion
  • Smart contract errors

You may still pay gas fees for failed transactions. These fees cannot be recovered.

6. Liquidity Risk

Some tokens may have:

  • Low liquidity, resulting in poor execution prices
  • Liquidity that disappears suddenly
  • Fake liquidity designed to trap traders

7. Token Risks

Tokens swapped through iSwap may:

  • Be scam or fraudulent tokens
  • Have hidden fees or taxes
  • Be blacklisted or frozen by issuers
  • Become untradeable
  • Have no value

iSwap does not endorse or verify any tokens. Always verify token contracts before swapping.

8. Wallet Security

You are responsible for:

  • Securing your private keys and seed phrase
  • Verifying transaction details before signing
  • Using secure devices and networks
  • Avoiding phishing attacks

Lost or stolen private keys cannot be recovered. iSwap cannot access or restore your wallet.

9. Regulatory Risk

Cryptocurrency regulations are evolving. Risks include:

  • Services becoming unavailable in your jurisdiction
  • Tax implications for swaps
  • Reporting requirements
  • Changes to legal status of certain tokens

Users in Iceland should be aware of FME (Financial Supervisory Authority) regulations.

10. Third-Party Risk

iSwap relies on third-party services:

  • 0x Protocol for swap routing
